Grading:
Attendance/Participation 30%
Group Assignments 15 %
Final Project 20%
Smaller assignments 35%
Unexcused absences starting with the third will result in a 1/3 letter grade
reduction of the final grade (cumulative !!). Assignments not turned in on time
will also be subject to grade reduction.
Other policies:
1. A lab fee of $15.00 for materials and equipment use will be charged to your
U-bill.
2. Lockers in the classroom are for your use. To claim one you must put
your name and semester on the locker as well as provide a lock. Please remove
your materials promptly at the end of the semester or they will be removed for
you.
3. Materials left in the classroom (outside of lockers) need to be organized
and marked as to whom they belong. Otherwise, it may be assumed that they are
trash and thrown away if not marked or if left for an extended period of time.
4. Materials are not to be left in the hallway. This blocks the fire corridor
and is against the fire code. Materials left in the hall will be promptly removed.
5. Due to the building's air circulation system (air in the building is constantly
re-circulated) the use of smoke (this means fire as well) or solvents is not
permitted in this building. This means no smoking, fires, no turpentine, oil
paints, solvent based glues, or spray paint. If you need to paint something,
it may be done outside but it cannot be brought back into the building until
completely dry.
6. The use of human blood in any project is strictly prohibited.
7. State law prohibits even bringing firearms onto campus. I.e., no guns. This
includes realistic-looking facsimiles.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the legality or appropriateness
of any project you are planning, please approach the instructor beforehand.
